For instance, fungal growth depends on both substrate composition and environment factors – with ideal ratios of carbon to nitrogen at 15-45:1. Mycelia should grow best under these circumstances.
Temperature and humidity also have an impactful influence on fungus growth, with optimal conditions being between 20 to 25degC for cultivation of Lingzhi in substrates or environmental air, with 60-66% relative humidity being ideal. Spore germination and primordial initiation require higher temperatures while fruit body development necessitates lower temperature/humidity levels than those required for primordial initation/germination.
