How to Add Reishi Mushroom in Your Coffee
Mushroom coffee is an increasingly popular morning beverage that combines coffee with medicinal mushrooms to promote balanced energy and mental clarity. Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Chaga and Cordyceps mushrooms may provide numerous health benefits including immune support, mood enhancement and stress reduction.
Mushrooms are well-known for their antioxidant properties and rich source of vitamins, minerals, polyphenols and carotenoids. Mushrooms may have various health benefits that include increasing immunity, fighting inflammation and decreasing cholesterol levels; as well as being packed full of health-promoting compounds which may protect against neurodegenerative diseases and improve cognition.
Reishi mushroom is an effective adaptogen that helps the body respond to emotional and physical stressors, as well as being an immune-enhancing mushroom that has been shown to regulate blood sugar and increase longevity in animals.
Though there have been reports that Reishi can stimulate white blood cells and help combat cancer, more research needs to be conducted in this regard. Reishi belongs to a select group of mushrooms which may stimulate natural killer (NK) cells and reduce tumors.
To make mushroom coffee, you will require ground coffee beans, ground dried mushrooms or mushroom extract, a pour-over setup with filter paper, boiling hot water and your preferred ratio of mushrooms to coffee based on personal preference. Pour-over setups allow mushrooms to immerse more fully into the brewing process and absorb more flavors and nutrients during this method of brewing.
