As of 2024, French Vanilla Coffee is considered permissible to drink. If there are any concerns with regards to ingredients present within it, however, please consult your local cleric first before drinking this product. This product’s ingredients include sugar, corn syrup solids, hydrogenated palm oil, sodium caseinate (a milk derivative), dipotassium phosphate, mono- and diglycerides, carboxymethyl cellulose gum salt sucralose acesulfame-k soy lecithin as well as natural flavouring agents. Alcohol may be present during the extraction process; however, this amount does not alter the flavor or impact on taste of the final product. Food manufacturers commonly employ alcohol as a solvent in order to extract and standardize vanilla flavors. Alcohol used in processing should come from non-alcoholic grain sources and never Khamr (wine or other fermented beverages), with less than 0.5% evaporated alcohol being utilized. When IFANCA certifies vanilla flavor products, technologists examine each aspect of them – ingredients, production methods and formulation – in order to confirm they are halal.
