Prenatal multivitamins are important during pregnancy and also before pregnancy. According to a 2022 report by the United Nations Populations Fund, approximately 50% of pregnancies are unplanned(1). Additionally, the baby’s neural tube develops during the first month of pregnancy—before most women are aware they’re pregnant! If you are thinking about becoming pregnant, then you should start taking a prenatal multivitamin, as it will provide more of the specific nutrients needed to support the growth and development of your baby. It’s a good idea to have that nutritional support in place at least 3 months before you become pregnant.+ (1) State of World Population 2022 Report. United Nations Population Fund. 30 Mar 2022. |
Growing a baby is a lot of work for your body! That’s why nutrient requirements for many essential nutrients increase during this important time. Pregnant women should eat a well-balanced diet and take a prenatal multivitamin every day to support their nutritional needs and the needs of their developing baby. Folic Acid is especially important, as adequate Folic Acid in healthful diets may reduce a woman’s risk of having a child with a neural tube defect. Some essential nutrients, such as Iron, Choline, Calcium, Vitamin D and DHA, will support your baby’s growth and development throughout your pregnancy. These nutrients can be found in prenatal multivitamins or additional dietary supplements.+ |
After birth, consider switching to a postnatal multivitamin to support your changing nutritional needs. After all, your body has gone through a lot in the last nine months! Prenatal and postnatal vitamins are formulated to support both mom and baby’s specific needs during each of these special phases. For example, pregnant women have higher Folic Acid and Iron needs to support baby’s development, and after birth these needs shift. New moms will want to consider a postnatal multivitamin as many nutrient needs remain higher during this time, especially if breastfeeding. A postnatal multi will have many essential vitamins and minerals moms need while nursing to support you and your growing baby.+ |

This is a set of two bottles, with the Prenatal Multivitamin in one bottle and the Choline in another, for a total of two pills per day. The choline is a classic solid/powder pill, while the multivitamin is a gelatin/liquid capsule.I log my foods to keep an eye on my nutrient intake, and I never get enough choline. Apparently it’s actually quite common to be under the recommended intake for choline, as we must obtain most of it from our diet. Choline is known to be important for liver function, healthy brain development, muscle movement, your nervous system and your metabolism, so I’m glad that this supplement is helping me meet the recommended daily intake. The multivitamin is easy to take, with no fishy burps or stomach upset despite including fish oil for Omega-3 fatty acids. I like that it includes a lot of the nutrients that I personally struggle with getting enough via my diet, like Iodine and Vitamin K.Overall, this is a nice option from a trustworthy and reputable brand.

Can’t go wrong with taking prenatal plus a bonus of choline capsules. I honestly never heard of choline before and I just found out more about it. I wish I had a long time ago. The prenatal vitamins are separate bottle from the choline capsules which are in their separate bottle. There’s no confusion. I got these for my daughter who is expecting our second grandchild in September of this year. Prenatal vitamins are a must to take daily when expecting. Good for baby and mom. This brand has been around for a while and one of the trusted ones out there. So far my daughter has been taking these vitamin’s daily and definitely has been doing the work of providing much needed supplements and vitamins for her and baby.

I’ve been using Nature Made Prenatal Vitamins ever since my first baby and I’m continuing to use it after just having my baby since I’m breastfeeding and I want to get all the necessary vitamins that I and my child needs thus I am continuing to use this brand because it’s trusted and it’s definitely complete with all the vitamins needed to keep me and my baby healthy. The choline is a great addition to supplement with keeping brain and muscles healthy. Price is just about right and would repurchase.

I’m not sure why I had the idea that these were going to be in foil packs together. It is literally just a box with 2 seperate bottles in it. You can buy the exact bottle of prenatal with folic acid and DHA by itself. I looked around and although I can’t find the EXACT bottle of 265 mg in 60 capsules, I did find a higher serving size and dose that still broke down to basically the same at 266 mg per capsule and 60 capsules. If I bought them separately it was $5 cheaper at a big box store. So, not cheaper sold as a set. But more convient to buy and ship for free off of Amazon. But, as far as the quality goes I’m happy. It is a well known brand that I trust. They have fish oil, so obviously not vegan and there is gelatin. Has 18 vitamins/minerals. Has 100% DV of iron along with vit c to help with absorption. They are encapsulated and quality tested in USA. They are capsules making them easier to swallow (in my opinion) vs tablets.

I am trying to start a family and have been taking prenatal vitamins from Nature Made for the last couple of years. This is the first time Nature Made has introduced Choline as an additional prenatal supplement. According to the labeling, Choline is an essential nutrient that supports baby’s brain and spinal cord development. This is a comprehensive prenatal supplement at a good price.

Typical Nature Made quality. This is a good combo pack of the two individual bottles.

This prenatal is made by a reputable brand and the quality shows. The soft gels are easy to swallow as are the choline capsules. No fishy smell that can sometimes come with DHA containing products. The only thing I would change is to have the choline put into the soft gels so that you don’t have to take two separate supplements. Seems like this would be easy to do. Other than that, highly recommend.

These prenatals are pretty easy to take, but just note that 1 dosage contains 2 different pills. Also, its bit more expensive for a 2 month supply than other stuff on amazon, but I do trust Nature Made with other supplements so I’d recommend taking a look at this if you need some prenatals.
