Description
Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) is an annual or biennial herb up to 150 cm high. The stalk is powerful, upright, slightly branched, formed in the second year of life. The leaves of the basal rosette are very large, oblong-oval, strongly wrinkled; stalks are alternate, leathery, shiny with white transverse stripes, along the edge and veins below with yellowish spines. The flowers are raspberry-lilac or purple in color, collected in large single spherical baskets. All flowers in the basket are tubular, bisexual. The fruit is a white-spotted achene with a crest and a wrinkled surface 5 mm long. Milk Thistle blooms all summer. The fruits ripen in September – October.

Directions
Shake well before use. Take 20-30 drops, three times a day or as directed by your practitioner. The best way to use liquid herbal glycerites is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water, tea, or juice and drink the entire contents. Glycerites can also be administered directly into the mouth without the assistance of water however some glycerites are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage.

The great part about this product is it’s very easy to take. I have trouble with pills so I always need something that is an easy melt or a liquid. It’s quite sweet so it’s not unpleasant to put directly into your mouth or you can mix it with any drink you like. I will be reordering it as it did make me feel better. Mind you I have several tinctures that I take but I do feel that this one was a good addition.

My little Chi Chi has a liver shunt that causes her liver to not operate at optimal levels. There was some concern she may not survive. My vet suggested this and 7 years later @ 14 yrs old, her liver is working great! Keeps it detoxed and her numbers down. She’s had a great, long life! If we try to stop this, her numbers go back up. We know this brand works great! Highly recommend!

Our puppy seems to have a bladdar leaking problem. I did research that says Milk Thistle helps with that issue. It has seemed to slow the issue down greatly. We just add it to her food.

I have ordered this 2x. The first time you could see, smell and toast that there was milk thistle in it. The 2nd time it was just a clear liquid with a hint of color. No smell and no taste. They either changed their product and didn’t alert anyone or they forgot to put in any milk thistle.

I haven’t tried many milk thistle tinctures, but of the 3 brands, this one was sweet, not bitter tasting and almost clear in color. Both made me question it’s strength. Shipping was fast and timely.
