Coffee enemas are an effective colon cleansing technique that involves instilling small amounts of brewed coffee directly into the large intestine to relieve constipation, stimulate liver and bowel function, and flush toxins out of your system. When selecting this technique for yourself it is highly advised that organic coffee be used; otherwise toxins could enter the bloodstream via absorption.

Organic coffee can be purchased both online and from health food stores. Organic beans do not contain harmful pesticides or chemicals used in non-organic varieties of the coffee bean, providing additional support to local farmers while helping the environment. Choosing organic will have many other advantages as well.

Coffee enemas contain caffeine that dilates your bile ducts, helping release any trapped toxins in your colon into your intestines for filtering by your liver. In addition, caffeine stimulates production of glutathione (an enzyme which detoxifies and protects against cancer development). They may also stimulate production of fatty acids which aid metabolism while mitigating weight gain or diabetes development.

Before using a coffee enema, make sure that you have an enema bag and a reusable hose or bucket ready. Furthermore, be sure to thoroughly disinfect both. Doing this will remove any potential bacteria left from previous users who may have used your device. Install your hose or bucket into a bathtub to avoid accidental spills and wear protective underwear when conducting the enema, just in case any of its liquid escapes during treatment. Once the enema has been administered, allow a few minutes before proceeding to the toilet. During this time you can practice holding in your coffee; though initially this may prove challenging. At first you may experience leaks but as time progresses you should find that you can hold onto more and longer periods without leakage.

After your enema treatment has finished, be sure to drink plenty of water to flush away any coffee or other toxins still present in your system and help promote regularity by increasing fiber-rich foods in your diet. Coffee enemas should also be avoided during pregnancy and when dealing with certain health conditions, including inflammation of the bowel; adrenal fatigue / M.E; heart, kidney or respiratory disease; recovering from surgery or having undergone colostomy procedures; as well as those sensitive to caffeine due to genetic variations that make detoxifying it inefficiently or having an inefficient liver. Caffeine may also irritate colitis, Crohn’s, and IBS sufferers.
