How Long to Steep Mushroom Infused Tea
Many people prefer taking psilocybin through tea rather than eating raw mushrooms or truffles because it’s easier on the stomach and quickly absorbs. Tea also allows you to more precisely control dosage without worry over overdoing it; there are multiple variations for making mushroom-infused tea that offer different effects – the key being finding which combination meets your specific needs and goals.
Mushroom tea blends typically utilize multiple varieties of mushrooms to achieve synergistic effects on mind, body and soul. Some blends may specifically aim at elevating mood while providing energy boost, while others focus on providing mental clarity and endurance benefits.
Reishi and Lion’s Mane combined into a tea is often recommended to promote mental clarity while increasing energy and endurance, or combined with Cordyceps for a subtle yet steady energy boost. There are numerous combinations available so experiment until you find one that suits you!
Your brewing method of choice will have an effect on its results; teas steeped for over 10 minutes tend to lose many of their healthful benefits and should use a non-metal tea strainer in order to remove contaminants that might arise from use.
As its name implies, decoction tea involves simmering mushrooms in hot water to extract their essential nutrients and extracts – this process is known as decoction and is recommended for tough or woody mushrooms such as Reishi, Birch Polypore or Many-zoned Polypore.
Tisanes differ from herbal or black tea in that there are no specific steeping requirements, making them easy to enjoy at your own leisure. They do not contain tannins like Camelia Sinensis (black or green tea) that may become bitter if steeped for too long; plus most tisanes consist of roots, barks, seed pods, stems flowers twigs that contain thicker cells than delicate leaves that can withstand hotter water temperatures.
Steeping times depend heavily on the type and flavor of tea you are steeping, but most tisanes should be ready to enjoy after 5+ minutes of steeping. Be sure to sample it along the way so as to judge its strength – if not strong enough you may need another few minutes or another cup. Also remembering it’s key to drink regularly so as to maximize its health benefits!
