How to Add Reishi Mushroom in Your Coffee
Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is widely recognized for its powerful immunomodulatory effects. Studies have demonstrated its ability to improve sleep, decrease blood pressure and boost immunity while simultaneously supporting liver health and balancing cholesterol levels. Reishi has been used for millennia as a treatment against fatigue, AIDS and cancers as well as anxiety and depression across Asia.
Reishi mushrooms contain beta-glucans and triterpenes which are believed to give it its medicinal qualities. It may interact with white blood cells to activate and improve functionality; as well as possibly helping with cancer prevention by decreasing toxic load in liver and lung organs.
Studies on Reishi have mostly focused on animal or cell models; further human trials should be undertaken to confirm its health benefits.
Reishi, Lion’s Mane and Chaga mushrooms have long been used in traditional medicine for their many health benefits, particularly immuno support; however they also aid cognitive performance, focus and energy production.
If you want to try adding Reishi mushroom into your coffee at home, we recommend our Reishi powder which contains the entire mushroom fruiting body rather than just its mycelium grown on grain. Combine instant coffee, Reishi extract and maple syrup into a large bowl and whisk until foamy-to-frothy texture appears; spoon onto glass of milk and enjoy!
