When it comes to healthy iced coffee, ingredients are key. This easy recipe consists of four simple ingredients and can easily be made dairy free using almond, coconut or oat milk as desired. Vanilla adds natural sweetness without the addition of extra sugar! With such rich and creamy textures that it creates, this homemade iced coffee drink makes an excellent way to start off a new day or boost an afternoon energy boost!
This iced coffee is healthier than anything available from coffee shops. It features a velvety taste with natural sweeteners (no added sugar). Plus, you can prepare it in advance! Once made it can be stored in the fridge up to three days without adding ice until ready for consumption.
To make this refreshing iced coffee, all that’s required is strong-brewed coffee, some ice cubes and your milk of choice – I prefer using 2% but whole or cream may work just as well! To add even more creaminess, consider topping off this tasty treat with some luxurious whipped cream!
Organic brewed coffee is my go-to choice when I’m entertaining guests at home, as it is cheaper and better for the environment compared to store bought varieties – and also tastes more delicious!
This refreshing beverage is the ideal way to cool down in the heat of summer. It pairs beautifully with breakfast foods like Coffee Cake Muffins or brunch dishes like Challah French Toast. Plus, it makes an ideal dessert beverage when served alongside fudgy Triple Chocolate Brownies!
What is the Difference Between Iced and Cold Brew Coffee?
Both forms of coffee contain caffeine, though cold brew has less acidity than regular brewed. Cold brew is prepared by steeping ground coffee in cold water for long hours to achieve a more subtle and smooth flavor profile.
Cold brew coffee is easily found at most grocery stores in their refrigerated sections, but you can also make it yourself in just 24 hours with minimal equipment! Check out our article on How to Create Cold Brew Iced Coffee for more details.
If you have a blender, the easiest method for making an iced coffee is combining all the ingredients and mixing until evenly mixed. Otherwise, combine coffee, ice cubes and vanilla syrup in a large glass and stir to mix them evenly before topping off your drink with desired toppings such as whipped cream or cocoa powder before serving. Although best enjoyed immediately upon creation, this drink can also be stored up to three days in the fridge with or without ice; simply refresh before each sip by stirring before taking another sip to keep its refreshing qualities.
