How to Make Medicinal Mushroom Tea
Medicinal mushroom tea is an increasingly popular beverage among many people for its therapeutic and distinctive flavors. It can be made using different species of mushrooms such as Reishi, Chaga and Lion’s Mane to name just a few; or more adventurously with Psilocybin to induce altered perception and spiritual awakening experiences.
When making mushroom tea, selecting the appropriate species is of utmost importance for achieving desired effects. Reishi tea is most renowned for alleviating stress while chaga and lion’s mane teas tend to boost immune functions while psychoactive mushroom teas may induce hallucinations.
To create mushroom tea, first grind or chop up your mushrooms into powder or small pieces using either a coffee grinder, knife or scissors or simply by hand. Once this step is completed, combine them with boiling water and allow to steep for approximately 15 minutes (the longer this step goes on, the stronger its effect will be). At that time’s conclusion, strain off any leftover bits from the tea liquid, and serve according to taste!
Though making mushroom tea may be straightforward, there are a few key considerations before starting to brew it. Reishi and psilocybin should never be combined together due to potential interference with immune function; similarly reishi should never be consumed when taken with blood thinners or medications that interfere with immunity; similarly both types should not be consumed by individuals with mental or physical conditions that might be negatively impacted by experiencing them.
Note that mushroom tea can be very potent, and your dosage should depend on your intended effect. For example, to enhance immunity reishi tea should be consumed between one and 1.5 grams daily while psilocybin tea could require higher dosage levels.
Mushroom tea can be enjoyed hot or cold, and often includes other herbs and spices to further its flavor profile. Reishi tea can be combined with ashwagandha for relaxation purposes while chaga tea mixed with chai spices makes a warming winter beverage.
As there are an endless number of possible combinations and ingredients for mushroom tea, the key to enjoying it properly is experimentation. There are endless combinations that could work, so finding your ideal combination may take some trial-and-error before finding something you enjoy and desired effect. It is important to keep in mind that tea absorbs quickly and can produce a robust experience; always begin with a microdose to gauge your tolerance level; drink your tea along with full glass of water so as to prevent dehydration; use only clean straws or cups when creating mushroom tea!
