How to Make Reishi Coffee
Reishi coffee is an herbal alternative to caffeine-based beverages that has become incredibly popular over time. A blend of coffee and functional mushrooms, Reishi coffee can help improve energy, sleep quality and stress reduction; some even add Chaga mushrooms for their antimicrobial benefits which helps fight infections and viruses!
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is known by many names; from “the mushroom of immortality,” to elixir of life or even just plain old “lingzhi.” With centuries of use in Chinese folk homeopathy and its ability to foster strength, vitality and longevity. Reishi serves as an adaptogenic herb which balances body and mind by relieving stress, improving sleep quality and soothing frayed nerves.
When creating reishi coffee, it’s essential to use premium ingredients such as organic coffee and pure reishi powder from fruiting bodies instead of mycelium grown on grain as the latter contains four times more polysaccharides and beta-glucans than their predecessor.
To create Reishi coffee, begin by filling a clean quart-sized mason jar with dried reishi and layering reishi slices until all space in the jar has been covered by them. Next, pour vodka over all of the reishi until all submerged. Cap the jar and store in a dark cupboard for two or three months, shaking or turning daily as the tincture forms within its container. Eventually strain using cheesecloth or coffee filter into another glass bottle/mason jar before finally straining out into new glass bottles/mason jars when ready!
