Is Death Wish Coffee Healthy?
Coffee is an integral part of daily life for many, with numerous health benefits associated with its moderate consumption. Studies have linked coffee consumption with reduced risks of dementia, improved gut health, reduced inflammation levels and enhanced mental performance and energy boost. As such, many coffee lovers look forward to sipping a steaming mug each morning! However, not everyone appreciates all its positive qualities; some coffee drinkers are concerned about potential side effects from caffeine such as heart palpitations, insomnia and anxiety; it’s therefore crucially important that individuals understand which brands contain how much caffeine content that each brand contains.
Death Wish Coffee Company produces an assortment of robust, high-caffeine coffees. One such variety, Blue and Buried, is only available for a short while this summer; boasting twice the amount of caffeine found in regular cups of joe. Roasted on a Loring S35 coffee roaster to perfection using certified Arabica and Robusta beans from across Africa, Blue and Buried is USDA organic as well as Fair Trade certified coffee.
While no reports have linked Death Wish Coffee directly with any reported deaths, it remains important to be mindful of its caffeine content. The Food and Drug Administration suggests limiting intake to 400 milligrams daily; that would equal approximately five cups of regular coffee for most people. Eight ounces of Death Wish Coffee contain 472 milligrams – nearly double what would normally be recommended!
Red Bull contains 111 milligrams of caffeine. According to FDA warnings, excessive caffeine consumption may lead to headaches, jitters and muscle tremors for some individuals.
Even though this coffee is not widely available in stores, you can purchase it on the company website for $20 a pound and will yield around 20 cups. Keep in mind, however, that it will likely sell out quickly this summer as its availability is limited.
For those who can’t seem to get enough, stocking up may be worthwhile; but for those wanting an extra cautious approach, it may be better to stick with their regular beverage instead.
