Is it Healthy to Drink Coffee Once a Day?
Coffee was long seen as bad for health. People believed it could cause heart attacks, cancer and other diseases; but over the years more research has disproved this notion. Today’s researchers have uncovered the many health benefits that coffee provides when taken in moderation; including helping fight conditions like diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease as well as improving mental health and endurance through its natural antioxidant content; it may even reduce inflammation within your body thanks to potassium, magnesium and riboflavin found in coffee’s caffeine.
Coffee can be beneficial to most adults, provided they do not consume too much of it. Excess caffeine consumption has been linked with insomnia, anxiety and headaches; but in moderation it can boost energy levels and alertness while aiding workouts through its ergogenic properties.
However, adding sugar to your coffee may be hazardous to your health. Sugar is one of the worst ingredients found in modern diets as it contributes to obesity and diabetes. Instead, opt for natural sweeteners like Stevia for optimal results.
Note that too much coffee can increase blood pressure. Also, avoid having it immediately upon awakening or before breakfast as this could irritate your stomach and lead to other health complications. If necessary, eating fruit or nuts before drinking your beverage may help neutralize its effects and aid digestion.
If you decide to enjoy coffee in the morning, make sure it’s black. Adding milk or cream could have adverse consequences on your health; increasing cholesterol levels while potentially leading to bloating. Furthermore, milk could alter iron and calcium intake as well.
When planning on having coffee before work, it’s best to do it at least 90-200 minutes after you wake up. Adenosine builds up when we wake up, which can leave us feeling tired; coffee can help overcome this by blocking it adenosine to keep us more alert during our day.
Doing coffee daily is healthy; just avoid adding too much sugar and make sure it’s not the first thing you consume in the morning. Furthermore, without milk or cream – as any trace may disrupt sleep cycles and leave you feeling less energetic – is best. So go grab a cup o’ joe today; just remember to incorporate other healthy habits as well!
