Is Nestle Coffee Crisp Halal?
Nestle Coffee Crisp Is Halal
Chocolate, in its basic form, including milk, sugar and cocoa butter (an edible vegetable oil extracted from cocoa beans), is considered halal. When combined with fillings such as liquor flavors (Turkish delight) or artificial colors (M&M’S and Smarties) these become forbidden and should be considered forbidden for consumption. Also some milk chocolate contain lecithin which may come from animals; if this information is provided it may become prohibited; otherwise if no indication provided then lecithin may become unlawfully.
Nestle produces a list of products suitable for vegetarians in their UK products; however, this does not extend to importers of foreign Nestle products who do not label as such. If unsure, please check ingredients labels on products as well as consulting knowledgeable religious authorities or certification organisations for guidance.
