Aflatoxin and Ochratoxin are mycotoxins produced by certain fungi present in grains like wheat and corn, fruits such as berries, nuts such as peanuts, and even coffee. To stay safe from mycotoxins it’s best to consume organic food sources whenever possible.

Many companies provide mold free coffee and make their mycotoxin test results available to the public, making mycotoxin testing transparent and easier for customers to understand. I advise avoiding brands which do not disclose this information about their mycotoxin testing procedures.

Peak Performance Coffee boasts that their green bean importers and roasting facility conduct mycotoxin lab tests on each batch of beans imported and roasted from them, to ensure product safety. Furthermore, they display the date of roasting on their website so you know that your coffee is fresh.

Byron Bay Coffee Company provides several different coffee options, but only their organic espresso has been tested for mycotoxins and molds. Their website lists mycotoxin testing as a link; however, I was unable to locate information regarding any specific mycotoxin tests they ran.

Natural Force Clean Coffee is another outstanding option, with their mission being to bring rare and high scoring specialty coffee from Honduras directly to consumers worldwide. They cultivate personal relationships with small-scale farmers while supporting sustainable farming practices; test for mycotoxins such as aflatoxin and ochratoxin A; decaffeinate using Swiss Water decaf; their cupping scores are between 80-100 and are much higher than most commercial options!
