ORGANO’s organic Ganoderma production means our spore powder contains over 99% open spores compared to plastic bag harvesting methods employed by competing companies.

Spores of Ganoderma mushrooms are extremely delicate, only available during their natural life cycle and obtained using brushes for collection. Their fine powder resembles baby powder in appearance.

What is Ganoderma Lucidum?

Ganoderma Lucidum, also known as Reishi or Lingzhi in Chinese culture, has long been used as part of traditional Asian medicine to promote wellness and vitality as well as strengthen immunity in humans.

Ganoderma lucidum (or Ganoderma for short) is one of the most frequently used mushrooms in modern medicine, primarily as an immunostimulant and due to its anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antioxidant properties it also acts as an immune booster. Furthermore, this mushroom can directly stimulate human natural killer cell activity thereby increasing their activity levels and stimulating them directly.

Ganoderma has also been shown to possess anti-depressant, analgesic, and antibacterial properties; used for treating hepatitis, bronchitis and other infectious diseases; it also acts as an immunomodulator which has been utilized in treating fibromyalgia patients.

Reishi mushrooms belong to the Ganodermataceae family of basidiomycetes and have long been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to increase vitality and extend lifespan. Research studies have demonstrated that Reishi extract contains various bioactive components, including polysaccharides, triterpenes and proteins with various biological activities including anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and diabetes treatment1. Studies also indicate the possibility that Ganoderic Acid A may exert various biological activities including anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and diabetic treatments1.

Reishi mushrooms are a key component of many natural products available worldwide, particularly those manufactured and distributed in Japan, China and Korea. Used widely as traditional medicines as well as in skincare and food products; Reishi also features widely in supplements and dietary beverages in North America and elsewhere.

Reishi is an immune stimulant composed of over 100 oxygenated triterpenes. It has been studied for its ability to stimulate natural killer cell activity and boost overall immunity. Reishi also has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and wound healing properties; plus it reduces oxidative stress in livers. Furthermore, Reishi can protect against radiation- and chemotherapy-induced toxicity in rats.

How is Ganoderma Lucidum grown?

Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to as “red reishi,” is one of numerous species known as the “red reishi.” This bracket or shelf fungus boasts an attractive reddish-brown hue and can reach over 40 inches wide, long, and 4 inches thick in its full glory. Believed to possess adaptogenic properties and cultivated for healing benefits. With over 400 species to choose from in Ganoderma’s vast genus Ganoderma family alone – particularly applanatum and lucidum which are most often grown for their medicinal qualities among its many species within.

Ganoderma, commonly referred to as Reishi or Ganoderma in East Asian cultures, is a polypore fungus belonging to the Polyporales order of basidiomycota that has long been grown for its health-strengthening and immune-enhancing properties. Reishi can reduce stress levels, extend longevity and increase sexual vigilance – among other benefits. The powder, capsules and extract forms available come together in this reishi formula.

This study’s purpose was to establish optimal growth parameters for G. lucidum using potato dextrose agar (PDA) plates and slants. Our results demonstrated that mycelial growth increased as incubation temperature rose until reaching 30degC whereupon it peaked and then declined over time.

Medicinal mushrooms are widely grown around the world for their beneficial effects on human health and are widely valued. Ganoderma lucidum is one such popular variety that has long been considered valuable, known by its many health benefits and often referred to as the red or king of medicinal mushrooms due to its reddish hue and numerous health advantages; such as helping strengthen immunity, improve sexual performance, energy and mental clarity levels and increasing lifespan.

Reishi (in Chinese) is used to treat conditions like hypertension, insomnia and other diseases. The fungus contains active compounds like triterpenes and polysaccharides which may contribute to its medicinal qualities.

Reishi mushrooms thrive best on hardwood trees like oak, birch, beech and alder trees but can also be found growing wild along hedges and parkwaysides. Reishi has been used as medicine for over 4000 years as it is recognized for its health-strengthening, anti-inflammatory and immune-supportive qualities as well as being rich in minerals such as iron potassium and zinc.

Why is Ganoderma Lucidum so beneficial?

Ganoderma Lucidum is widely recognized for its immune-enhancing and antioxidant properties, particularly its polysaccharide beta-glucans. Furthermore, this powerful medicinal plant has shown evidence of helping protect against free radicals.

As an adaptogen, maca is a potency source of balance and support during times of stress, thanks to its abundance of beta-glucans which enhance immune functions while encouraging circulation health.

Reishi, more commonly known by its Japanese name of Rei-sheng, is widely believed to possess anti-inflammatory properties and aid mental and physical endurance, relieving fatigue and depression while improving sleep quality and increasing energy levels.

Ganoderma lucidum can help lower cholesterol by way of its rich supply of peptides that can reduce both blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as polysaccharides like triterpenes and beta-glucans that contain triterpenes and beta-glucans to decrease LDL (bad) and increase HDL (good) levels.

G. lucidum extracts in both form (ethanolic and water-soluble) contain many of the same beneficial components that water-soluble extracts do; however, due to an inability of ethanolic extraction to separate triterpenes and polysaccharides from one another for maximum effectiveness it is wise to take both forms together for maximum benefits.

Studies have demonstrated that G. lucidum can inhibit adipocyte differentiation and produce hypoglycaemic effects, as well as promote immune function to increase resistance against diseases. Reishi contains polysaccharides which have also shown efficacy in this regard.

Ganoderma lucidum stands out as an exceptional mushroom due to the special growing conditions required. Harvesting can also be challenging: 1 kg of product requires harvesting from 1,000kg of spores! Furthermore, collecting them without crushing requires special techniques – so naturally it’s one of the more expensive supplements on the market! However, at ORGANO we have perfected this process so you can reap its many advantages via our supplements and enjoy all their incredible health benefits in an organic format – providing our customers with high-quality 100% organic Reishi.

What is the best way to take Ganoderma Lucidum?

To maximize the benefits of Ganoderma Lucidum, we suggest taking water-soluble extracts. While they may be less concentrated than ethanolic extracts, water-soluble ones maintain more of its beneficial compounds while being easier to digest – the easiest way to enjoy water-soluble extracts would be adding them into beverages such as coffee, tea or juice.

Our water-soluble extract of Reishi mushrooms combines three components – spores, mycelium and the lucidum cap – into one potent blend for maximum benefit and unique health properties. Each part offers unique properties and health advantages: for instance spores contain high concentrations of antioxidants to support immune health while mycelium serves as a network of cells connecting them together – known for antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties; finally the Lucidum cap contains powerful polysaccharides and triterpenes known to reduce inflammation and support healthy liver function.

Reishi mushrooms can be used in many different ways; some people incorporate it directly into their cooking, while others take capsules or powdered supplements containing it. It has been demonstrated to help treat many different conditions ranging from cancer and high blood pressure to arthritis and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Reishi has been shown to increase energy levels, lower cholesterol levels and protect the heart against damage. Studies also indicate its beneficial properties to relieve anxiety and depression symptoms. Reishi’s polysaccharides may have immunostimulatory properties as they help promote proliferation of T and B lymphocytes as well as splenic mononuclear cells, natural killer (NK) cells and dendritic cells – thus providing numerous health benefits.
