For those who prefer not to brew their own, or who simply want to give Peet’s a try for the first time, this bundle offers a selection of our best-selling organic coffees – medium roast Alameda Morning Blend and dark roast Major Dickason’s Blend are our two signature offerings that feature full flavor with minimal effort on your part. These certified organic blends are hand roasted at our roastery in Alameda, CA to ensure eco-friendliness!

Peet’s dark roast, featuring beans from Central and Latin America, provides an enjoyable cup with balanced body and an exceptional taste. Additionally, this 100% arabica and fair trade certified coffee has been grown using sustainable farming practices that support farmers and farmworkers.

Peet’s beans are certified organic to ensure they were produced without using harmful chemicals, making them a healthy option for your morning cup. In addition, Peet’s partners with Descamex (Descafeinadores Mexicanos SA de CV), an innovative decaffeination service using Swiss water technology to gently strip caffeine from raw green coffee beans using Swiss Water Decaffeination rather than solvent-based methods that may lead to bitterness or other undesirable characteristics in its decaffeination process.

Clean Label Project has revealed in their new study that methylene chloride, or dichloromethane, can be detected in many brands of conventionally decaffeinated coffee. Methylene chloride is an invisible liquid chlorinated hydrocarbon used as paint stripper and in various industrial cleaning products; according to Clean Label Project findings it can damage respiratory systems of workers who handle it.

As a result of the findings from this study, the Clean Label Project advises consumers to avoid methylene chloride by selecting products using Swiss water decaffeination technology or look out for claims such as “solvent-free” and “chemical-free” on packaging in order to identify brands without this substance.

As for sustainability, Peet’s stands out among coffee companies by being one of the few that offers both disposable cups and lids for purchase in-store that are compostable – helping reduce waste while supporting the environment. Furthermore, customers are encouraged to bring their own mugs, further decreasing plastic usage and landfill waste. In addition, their roastery and stores use renewable energy sources for powering their facilities.
