Our analyses demonstrated that oily extracts of G. lucidum obtained using Soxhlet apparatus, chloroform refluxing or supercritical CO2 all shared similar fatty acid profiles; significant concentrations of oleic (C18:1n9) palmitic (C16:0), palmitic (C16:0), palmitic (C16:0), palmitic (C16:0), Stearic (C24:0), Stearic (C24:0), but commercial liquid extract containing more bioactive ingredients lucidenic Acid and 12-acetyl Ganoderic Acid F were produced using freeze drying technique – for commercially available liquid extract of G. Lucidum.

These data demonstrate that a novel extraction method, which is simple, easy and economical, may be suitable for extracting beneficial bioactive components of G. lucidum spores. This technique preserves functional active components in triglycerides while remaining nontoxic to extract. Furthermore, its extraction temperature and working pressure are low so as to make the extraction process gentle and effortless; extracted spore oils can easily be separated with an extraction agent without risk of oxidization during this process.
