Seems to be a pretty good product. I don’t have trouble swallowing larger tablets/capsules, however, someone who does may find these a bit big.

I was able to take myself off of Glipizide by taking Berberiine instead. I take 3 pills a day (1500 mg), one before each meal and it works. If I only eat twice then I take the third dose before bed. Of course, I take other supplements like Olive Leaf Extract and Curcumin (Turmeric) and exercise regularly. My diet rounds out the package. All three, (diet, exercise, and supplements) allow me to live my life without having to take prescription drugs for my Type II diabetes. I was very happy when I was able to do this. Since then I have also stopped taking Liprinosil for high blood pressure because natural supplements, exercise, and diet work again. It took a good bit of research and trying different supplements but I am finally free of all prescription drugs. It would take more time than I have to tell you everything in this review that I am doing for exercise, the foods I eat, and the long list of vitamins and supplements that I take. Besides there are plenty of written works and online helps out there that already do that. However, I can tell you that I do not take a multivitamin. I take many separate vitamins and minerals in specific doses that work for me. It just took some research and testing to find out what works. It’s still somewhat of an ongoing process. One final point is I tried a different Berberine product (from LongLifeNutri) when I ran out of this one but it didn’t work as well. It worked but my blood sugar count was usually around 125 to 130 instead of 20 or so points lower. My doctor just wants me to make sure I keep it under 150 but I think around 100 is a much better number. I had to come back to this brand before I started seeing the better results again. All our bodies are slightly different so I’m not sure why there was a difference between the two brands since they both are supposedly 100% Berberine only.I’ll just stick with this one as long as it continues to work for me.

I often call myself an alien because things that other people can eat, do or use is forbidden to me. I can’t take *any* pill-form medication in existence, because the cellulose binding (Micro Crystalline Cellulose – **WOOD PULP**) is quite literally poison to me. I’m forced to have all medications compounded into capsules without added cellulose. Around February, I was accidentally given a thyroid medication containing cellulose. And from that one pill, I had weeks of life threatening problems, but when the effects of that one pill should have faded, I was still left with the problems that I’d been bothered with for months. In the end, I found that it was my Metformin that was continuing the staggering, brain fog and other truly horrible symptoms. I knew I had to find a way off that vital medication, but I don’t switch medications easily.I researched *all* meds but failed to find anything I knew was safe for me. But from the very first search, Berberine kept coming up. I decided to give Berberine a try until I could find a “real” alternative prescription medicine. I ordered Berberine and took my first two capsules. That week, my numbers (growing higher by the day on the Metformin) didn’t soar. The following week only brought further good news. Now, I’m about a month on the Berberine, tolerating it well, with numbers far better than I’ve seen since Christmas last year. Best part: *Most* of the horrible symptoms (racing heart, extra heartbeat, breathing difficulties, staggering, brain fog, panic attacks, sleep issues, unwarranted anger….) have disappeared or are *greatly* eased. Now, I’m very happy to have Berberine. For the first time in years, I’m beginning to feel “human” instead of a sickly alien. I realize this review is wordy. But a simple “I like it” doesn’t cut it. Seriously. I feel finding Berberine may have saved my life.[Personal Disclaimer: My case is extreme. Please consult with your doctor before changing *any* prescribed medications of your own accord. I did, but after the fact.]

. I am 63-yrs old with an A.A.S. in Medical Laboratory Technology and was recently diagnosed (4yrs.) with type 2 diabetes. I was prescribed 1000mg. Metformin X2 daily by my, then, physician and my A1c dropped from 10 to 6. I have, since, lost my employer health insurance coverage and cannot afford it on my own. The cost of Obama Care is beyond my budget. My state doesn’t have an extended Medicare program (thank God). While searching for alternatives to (prescription) Metformin, I ran across medical literature for Berberine. Peer reviewed studies of Berberine show that it is similar to Metformin in its regulation of blood glucose. Metformin is very safe, effective, and about as cheap as yesterday’s newspapers. The real cost is what the gatekeepers charge for the bad coffee in the waiting room, the physician consultation, and the CYA lab tests. I became interested in substituting Berberine for Metformin. Berberine is more expensive than Metformin but is available without a prescription…so, it costs less. The real problem with using Berberine has been working out the dosage. I have reduced my use of Metformin to half my prescribed dosage and I have, gradually added 1500 mg. of Berberine. I have been checking my blood glucose readings with the addition of this product and, so far, I am happy with the results. My A1c remains around 6. Eventually, I will work out the dosage so that I won’t be using Metformin at all.

As a type 2 diabetic, there is a constant awareness that this disease eats you alive. It affects every organ of the body. It has ruined my eyesight, I have lost 5 toes to gangrene. I have lost my ability to balance. It produces brain fog and other issues and the insulin I have been taking for the past 7 years creates weight gain despite your best efforts.Even when you try to be careful with your diet and follow the guidelines given you by your doctor, it is difficult to be successful in normalizing your blood sugars. Then along came Berberine. I have been taking is just short of a month and the past two weeks I have been able to completely eliminate my novolin shot. My blood sugars are consistently between normal ranges and I am feeling like there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I appreciate the careful instructions I received with tmy order and I have followed those instructions very carefully to prevent blood sugar dropouts, which are very dangerous.I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. It is important that you do your research. That being said, recommend this to any diabetic who is willing to be careful and diligent with their food regimen and their testing. It may have well saved my life.

I have taken Berberine for several years to help with diabetic management. This brand is okay but not the best that I’ve used. On the plus side,I have never had any stomach problems that can sometimes can occur with regular use of Berberine.

I’m just starting my 2nd month of this product, so I haven’t had another blood test yet. I’m looking forward to that in another month or so. But I have noticed that my food cravings are less than they were before I started taking it. My naturopathic doctor recommended Berberine to me. She said they’ve found that people are losing visceral fat after 3 – 4 months of taking it — not necessarily losing pounds, but losing inches and the “bad” fat. So I need a little more time to see if I have that result. I haven’t had any negative side effects and will continue to take it.Also, I’ve their customer service to be outstanding!

I was diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic in January 2016. My A1C was 6.7. Not good. I looked up alternative remedies in order to avoid medication. Tried white mulberry extract which didn’t have any significant effect, as there was no change to my A1C. Started Berberine in March. Already almost 3 months in, my A1C is now 6.3. Not bad. Still at the prediabetic level, but it’s a huge improvement. My doctor is stoked. I should also note that I added daily 1 hour exercise, been eating better, got counseling from a Certified Diabetes Educator, limiting carbs and have lost 12 pounds since January. I’m going to keep this up for a whole year and see how much I could improve. Will keep you updated. I know how this is nerve wrecking for many suffering this disease whether newly diagnosed or struggling to keep A1C down. But there is hope. Just keep on trying. It’s possible.

UPDATE!!!! I had been getting this under subscribe and save for 3 years. In January when I got my last order the dosage had been UPPED BY 1000MGS!!! That is not a misprint! I call the company the day I received the bottles! WHY?? Because we changed the formula. Obviously but my doctor has had me on the 500mg 2x’s a day! OH well we decided to change the dosage. I SEE that but why not give a choice?Just do not up by doubling it!! Were sorry for the inconvenience!! It is more than that! It is dangerous!! I am nurse and this is appalling!!! RETURNED AND NO LONGER USE!!! The qualiy of this Berberine is the best. It has lowered my A1c from 7 to 5.8. I was prediabetic but am no longer. It only took 3 months. This does not mean you can go ahead and eat carbs as you wish! And a dear friend of mine, type II is rampant in her family. So when her first A1c was 8.4 the doctor of course immediately wanted to put her on Metformin. She refused. She took the Berberine and did stop eating candy and lower her carb intake. But no other major diet changes. On her next A1c it was 4.1!! For both of us three years later we are holding steady. And it does help some with any inflammation you may have in your intestinal track. I have always trusted this company!

I first read about Berberine in Men’s Health where they were touting the cholesterol and arterial benefits. Then more recently a friend mentioned the benefits of berberine extract in regards to blood sugar control which can help provide a sense of satiety, lead to weight loss and a more consistent energy level.I like that this product uses Berberine from Berberis aristata as I have read that it is the most potent.I’ve been taking this for less than a week and I am already beginning to feel the positive effects from a satiety and energy perspective. Too early to tell regarding any impact on cholesterol since I don’t have that checked routinely. If I remember I’ll check back in with an update on cholesterol in the future.
