I was delighted to see that the ingredients listed nothing besides 100% Organic Yellow Mustard Seed. It wears the USDA organics certification as well as OneCert. The product is made in India by Samasta and distributed by Stallion International in California. I went to the products website listed on the product label and it provides a lot of useful information.The top of the jar has a freshness safety seal over the contents. After removing the safety seal the mustard seeds give off a slight mustard aroma which intensifies when I ground some with a mortise and pestle. It tastes full-flavored and fresh and has an expiration date of 18 months from the writing of this review. The cap is a solid screw-on cap and doesn’t lift to sprinkle as depicted in the product photos. For me, that’s not an issue and in fact, I think the product will stay fresher with a sturdy screw-on cap rather than a shaker cap.Overall I am pleased with this product.

This is a 5.3 oz bottle of high quality organic mustard seeds. It does not contain anything other than 100% Mustard Seeds and the jar has a freshness seal which keeps these seeds fresh for longer. The bottle only has a closed cap and not a pour through cap as depicted in the some of the product images. I used these mustard seeds in a dish I made and it certainly added good flavor to it.

These mustard seeds are high-quality and very fresh. They’re quite fragrant, and of course smell distinctly like mustard. They’re great for cooking and pickling, and add a nice flavor to a curry when cooked in oil first. I also love adding them to salad dressings or bread dips, with some balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

I received “Darsa Organics Yellow Mustard Seeds 5.3 oz | Rai from India | USDA Organic | Kosher | Non-GMO Spices| Whole Spices & Herbs | Use for Tempering, Pickles, & Spice Blends.” The container does not come with a sprinkler cap as advertised, just a regular flat lid. The color of the seeds looks appealing, and the product has good flavor. It has very little bitterness. The aroma is not very strong. The packaging states that it is a product of India. The container I received has an expiration date a year and a half in the future.

I used these on a Martha Stewart recipe that I’ve used for years that calls for salmon cooked with mustard seeds. These mustard seeds worked great. I love how big a container it is. It definitely has good value for the price.

Nice quality mustard seeds that are great for pickling, making your own mustard, salad dressings, and my favorite Indian curries. This is a pretty large container that does not have a sprinkler cap like it says in the product description (not a deal breaker for me, it does not make sense for this type of product anyway). The best-before date on my jar is Sep-25.

These mustard seeds are fresh and tasty. I tried grinding some using a pestle and mortar to make fresh mustard and it turned out great.

Great container of organic yellow mustard seed! Our darsa Organics container has a best by date of Sept. 2025, so plenty fresh! Ours didn’t have a sprinkle cap, as stated in the listing. However, we will be using this mustard seed for pickling this summer, so it isn’t needed. Just a heads up though!
