As a long-time user of probiotics in our family, I had heard about pre-biotics and was curious. When the opportunity to review this for free came around, I took it in a heartbeat. In short, my son has had problems digesting dairy for his entire life… so I help him minimize that. We figured the perfect test of this supplement would be if I loosened up those restrictions while he was taking the supplement for at least 30 days. All in all, he has handled dairy MUCH better since taking these pre-biotics. So much that I didn’t review this product after the initial supply was out, but rather, after purchasing a new supply and waiting even more time. We’ve added this supplement to his daily routine, and he is very grateful that now he can have dairy more freely than before.

We’ve had probiotics and have used them over the years, then we started hearing whispers on the wind about something else we needed to help our probiotics, a prebiotic. Is it just hype? Are we all just living in a simulation and it doesn’t matter what we do?Not sure I can help with the second question, but maybe the first. Are prebiotics helpful. From healthline, I learned that prebiotics are a type (or types) of fiber that help feed probiotics, or the good gut flora. So yes, according to one site on the internet, prebiotics are good. (There’s a lot more sites that say the same thing, but you catch my meaning). Now, does a little pill help? We’re talking fiber here. I take a fiber supplement that is 10 times the amount of prebiotic supplement serving. Healthline also states you can get good prebiotic fiber from:Chicory RootDandelion GreensJerusalem ArtichokeGarlicOnionsLeeksAsparagusBananas (Yum)BarleyOatsApplesKonjac RootCocoaBurdock RootFlaxseedsYacon RootJicama RootWheat BranSeaweedThere are some yummy items on that list (seaweed, etc.). Your serving of fiber from a banana is going to be a lot higher than from a pill. So, unless you specifically need something from this supplement as recommended from a doctor or through your own research (not dissing on the supplement, just saying), you can easily get good prebiotic fiber through diet.

    Works great with my probiotics

  5. Here is my honest opinion

My gastro recommends I take a probiotic (a different brand), but there aren’t any studies that show they are beneficial for the average person. Also, when a probiotic is useful for certain medical conditions, there are lots of kinds and you need to take the right one for your problem. And, packaging or poor storage can kill the probiotic before it does any good. So, I continue to take a few different kinds (I take several different ones, but take different ones on different days). I don’t feel any different. I am not really sold on the idea that I need them.

I had been previously taking another brand. The capsule sizes were a big difference. It doesn’t work as well as the other brand. I have started taking 2 capsules and can tell a little difference but still not the same. I will not buy this brand again.

So what are Prebiotics? They are a type of fiber. They are undigestable plant fibers that feed the probiotics or the good bacteria already live inside the large intestine. The more food, or prebiotics, that probiotics have to eat, the more efficiently these live bacteria work and the healthier your gut will be. Just a few foods that provide this are:Chicory Root. Chicory root is popular for its coffee-like flavor. …Dandelion Greens. Dandelion greens can be used in salads and are a great source of fiber. …Jerusalem Artichoke. …Garlic. …Onions. …Leeks. …Asparagus. …Bananas….And the list goes on. A lot of our health is based in our guts. A healthy gut is very important! We want good prebiotics to help build these good bacteria in our guts. However just like us they do need to be fed. You can get your prebiotic through natural food sources however if you’re eating the typical American diet lots of people will not be getting a good supply of pre-biotics to help feed your good bacteria in your gut. This is a very easy and convenient way to help make sure they’re being fed properly. Easy to swallow one a day capsule. Two months supply in each bottle. I take one of these capsules along with my probiotic daily.

I looked up probiotics and found the following: PREBIOTIC FIBER is a non-digestible part of foods like bananas, onions and garlic, Jerusalem artichoke, the skin of apples, chicory root, beans, and many others. Prebiotic fiber goes through the small intestine undigested and is fermented when it reaches the large colon. This fermentation process feeds beneficial bacteria colonies (including probiotic bacteria) and helps to increase the number of desirable bacteria in our digestive systems (also called the gut) that are associated with better health. Some of these ingredients appear to be macrophages like lh01 Myrovidae, which is capable of getting rid of pathogens in the gut. The result of taking these with probiotics have been beneficial for me. I’m experiencing better digestion and overall better gut health, which has been a problem for me. Recommended.

I take multiple strains of probiotics for digestive health and for me they do make a difference. However, lately I’ve had a lot of bloating and digestive issues from taking NSAID so I have added a prebiotic to give them a boost. These are small capsules and easy to swallow.

I make my own kombucha, so get plenty of probiotics. In theory, a prebiotic supplement could help ensure any probiotics in your gut have something to feed on.I’ve used most of the capsules in the bottle and have yet to notice any positive (or ill) effect. Perhaps I’m already getting enough prebiotic from natural sources. I don’t often eat chicory root, but I do consume a lot of garlic, onions, asparagus, bananas, barley, apples, cocoa, and flaxseeds. If you don’t consume such foods on a regular basis, you would probably find these prebiotics helpful.
