So far, this iron supplement has not caused constipation as has happened to me in the past.

Great taste and completely absorbable with added rose hips. Vitamin C helps with the absorption of iron.

The good: great absorbency*; long shelf life; no nauseaThe eh: taste (*This will vary per body, so might not apply to you)These work great for me (for context, I am a vegetarian, athlete, and consistent blood/bone marrow donor). My doctor recommended I start taking an iron supplement to maintain my bone reserves and keep up with blood & bone marrow needs. With these, my hemoglobin results are consistently strong. Plus, I’ve been able to do altitude training with far fewer side-effects than my friends. The taste is… well, it’s not great, but it’s the best that I’ve tried. If you’re expecting them to taste like candy, you’ll be disappointed; iron supplements are always going to have a metallic aftertaste. Plus, these are made to be chewable, and it can leave a medicine-type aftertaste and slightly gritty feeling in your teeth… BUT that’s fine with me because **they don’t give me nausea!!** All the other supplements I’ve tried give me nausea, regardless if I take them with/without food. I recommend just take these mid-meal to get the taste out of your mouth and you’ll be good to go.So tl;dr, I’m really pleased with these! I’ve ordered them multiple times and the quality has been consistent.

My daughter’s doctor wanted her to start on iron supplements after a blood test showed that she was very low. The doctor recommended 2 chewables. We got them both. My daughter likes this one the best.

First impression: First Iron supplement that doesn’t make me feel like death, just a little bit nauseous. I’ve been taking iron on and off since I was a teen, and mild anemia is pretty common in my family, plus none of us are huge meat eaters which doesn’t help. What can you do though? I’m just not a fan of meat, really. I took my first dose of this iron supp right after a fairly high carb/high fat ~400 calorie meal, and the taste at first was pretty good–like a tart cherry flavoring, but the after taste is a bit metallic. About 5 minutes later I was hit with a mild wave of nausea, which seems pretty fast to link it to the supplement. Usually when I take supplements with high doses of iron, even with food, I am rendered useless, and have to lay down for a couple hours to let the nausea/dry heaves/dizziness pass, but it usually takes 20-25 mins for the symptoms to set in, so who knows. Maybe it was psychosomatic? Next time I take it, I’ll try to aim for different macros for the meal I take it with to see if that helps with side effects and will update. I’m planning on alternating days of single supplement use (biotin, iron, b12, niacin, taurine) with a multivitamin (Vitamin Code Women’s Multi) that has pretty low iron content to minimize the chance of overdose. I’m also taking fish oil every day. I’ve been feeling off the past couple of months, and have noticed my hair/nails/energy aren’t so hot, and also have been experiencing under eye circles like I’ve been pulling all nighters when I haven’t been, so not too thrilled about that. Hopefully this supplement stack will help me feel more like myself again.Update: I took this again with a high fat/high protein meal ~400 calories and I didn’t feel any nausea! I had it in the middle of my meal this time.

First of all I read all of the reviews. I am in need of iron bigtime, my rbc count is and has been low for years and I just found out that my ferritin levels are super low. I am now getting weekly iron infusions interveniously to get them up quickly. I knew that literally chewing up iron could not be that great. I knew that it wouldn’t taste like a wonderful candy but I also knew that I needed something that my body could use quickly and chewing it up seemed to be key. These are great! They do not make me sick to my stomach (everything makes me sick!) and it tastes great! The ones I got anyways are really tart and sweet and easy to chew up. They taste a little iron-y at the end but that is to be expected, just wash the little bit that is left over with your dinner drink and it’s gone. I can’t say enough about these. I also take a multivitamin that has iron in it now as well as “Blood Builders” which are all natural. My hematologist knows I am taking all of these and he is good with it. I had labwork this morning but I won’t know how much that these have contributed since I have had 4 iv iron infusions so far. I will continue taking these when I am done with the infusions to keep my iron in good range. Remember to not drink caffeine or milk products before during or after you take iron, it will wash it out of your system. Like I mentioned, I take one of these at night because I dont’ drink caffeine past 3 or drink milk with dinner.

I found out earlier this year that my iron was really low (about an ‘8’). After just a week of taking just a quarter of this tablet, my energy picked up and my leg cramps at night disappeared. After just 3 months when I had my levels retested I was up to 12 – all the doctors were very impressed. I then had a hemorrhage when giving birth (unexpectedly) and my levels dropped to 8 overnight, and would have been a disaster if I hadn’t been taking this tablet to begin with (blood transfusion, complications etc). I am very grateful that this exists, and that it works so well. I recovered from the hemorrhage more quickly than expected too, due to taking lots of this tablet right away each day. I find that if I stop taking it, I notice the effects within a week or less (and I take a womens multi gel capsule vitamin which supposedly has 100% daily iron, which does not seem to do anything, not like this tablet at least). I am one of those people who usually doesn’t get much benefit from any supplement, no matter how special or potent it’s supposed to be. The most effective supplement I have ever taken. Completely worth it if you need iron. Just 1/4 tablet of this everyday. That’s all I needed to get my numbers up and feel good. As a bonus, the flavor is great, the added vit c aids in digestion…couldn’t ask for something better – keep away from kids and pets – it’s yummy! And eat it after a meal, and invest in some prune or pear juice and psillium husk for the bathroom, if needed!Update: I’d like to add that I just found out my levels are back up to 12 from where I was at 8 a month ago, which means that I jumped 4 points in probably less than a month. Great stuff.

This is the only iron supplement I’ve tried that does not upset my stomach. It constipated a bit but not as much as others I’ve tried. I like the flavor, there is a bit of iron after flavor but a swig of water rids that. I only take one a day because two is a bit more constipating.

I have been anemic for most of my life, and it has gotten worse since pregnancy and post-partum period. I have to take a daily iron supplement to keep my levels up, and I feel very sluggish, cold-susceptible, and sleepy if I don’t. Anyone that has ever taken iron supplements knows that there are usually a few common factors: bad taste/smell and serious constipation.Enter these tablets. They are a nice berry flavor, and while they have a slight metallic aftertaste, they are quite pleasant tasting. I just got some different chewable tablet vitamins from the same company

    Nature’s Plus Adult’s Multi-Vitamin Chewable – Pineapple Flavor- 180 Chewable Tablets

    – see my 2-star review there) which were absolutely disgusting, so not all chewables are created equal! I enjoy these quite a bit. The tablets are about the size of a thick nickel, and they are a little chalky initially but meld together nicely as you chew them. I prefer taking these to taking yet another pill, and they work well too. I have noticed that I am not constipated when taking these, which I attribute to better absorption due to the amino acid chelate formulation.I think the value is good for the money – the serving size is one tablet per day, and the price is reasonable. I will say you can find it for a little cheaper if you hunt around online. The product is also gluten-free and vegetarian, for those who needs that information.Great product. I just reordered it again. I wish it could be part of the subscribe and save program!

I just received this bottle of chewable iron tablets and was kinda shocked, because it definitely was my fault, I thought I had ordered chewable iron. I love the chewable vitamins and I did a search on Amazon 4 chewable iron thinking it was the same as gummies. My bad. However as soon as I open the bottle and saw that they were chewable tablets I ate one and it did not taste bad at all to my surprise. Next time I will be more careful and make sure I get gummies. I have gummies for women, vitamin b12 gummies, vitamin C gummies and they serve almost as my breakfast. But as I said this was my fault and these chewable so far have a pleasant taste better than the last iron tablets I had which you had to let melt in your mouth and they were horrible. Hopefully taking the I will not be as tired as I am all the time and freezing cold all the time. let melt in your mouth and they were horrible hopefully taking the I will not be tired as I am all the time I am freezing cold all the time. I apologize if my sentence structure would not pass an English test but I am dictating into my cell phone and my brain bounces back and forth all over the place and what bounces around is what comes out. 🙂 I hope at least you can understand what I’m trying to say.
