What is RYZE Mushroom Coffee Made Of?
RYZE mushroom coffee is an organic Arabica coffee blend combining six functional mushrooms (cordyceps, lion’s mane, reishi, shiitake, turkey tail and king trumpet) which have been sustainably grown and undergo dual extraction to maximize the beneficial compounds. The product claims to provide improved focus, increased energy and immunity and decreased stress while containing less caffeine than traditional coffee products.
RYZE supplements its mushroom coffee with ingredients such as L-theanine and coffee bean extract. Their organic Ethiopian coffee products are certified gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO; additionally they do not use prebiotics or artificial sweeteners like most competitors do – instead listing several health benefits of RYZE’s coffee such as enhanced memory retention, decreased inflammation levels, mental clarity enhancement and lower blood sugar levels as benefits for their customers.
The website suggests adding coffee to smoothies, hot cocoa or other beverages for an additional delicious boost of caffeine. In addition, they offer an automatic subscription service which delivers their drink each month as well as giving customers access to a gratitude journal app with short bursts of reflection that promote mindfulness and gratitude.
RYZE claims their formula includes these ingredients:
Due to being proprietary, it can be challenging to verify this information. While the label outlines six types of mushrooms included in the product, it cannot tell us whether their concentration meets Samuels’ recommendations for fruiting bodies.
Further, RYZE does not list where they source MCT oil or coconut milk – both could potentially come from palm kernels which can lead to deforestation – so we contacted them about these concerns; unfortunately they failed to reply with an explanation or provide any response.
Though RYZE does have its share of shortcomings, reviewers on our site appear very satisfied with its taste and texture. Many found it didn’t contain bitter notes typical of instant coffee beverages; others chose to enjoy the beverage with creamers or sweeteners for additional enjoyment. They reported an earthy yet smooth flavor they found particularly enjoyable.
As with any supplement, it is advised to discuss RYZE and any new ones with your physician prior to starting use. The mushrooms found in coffee may cause various side effects and some have even been known to interact with certain medications; such as Lion’s Mane interacting with Sildec too drastically in diabetic patients’ bodies reducing blood glucose levels too quickly. Also important: Discuss any additional dietary supplements you might be taking such as multivitamins.
