Reishi mushroom tea, often known by its Chinese name Lingzhi tea, is an age-old natural remedy used by traditional Chinese medicine to promote holistic health and longevity. Available as tea, tablets or capsules – Reishi is an ideal natural way to strengthen immunity while improving overall wellbeing, with benefits that span anti-ageing, heart health, weight loss and stress/depression reduction all at its fingertips.

Reishi is an eye-catching reddish-brown fan-shaped mushroom. A popular ingredient in herbal products, Reishi can be found as either an extract or combined with other herbs and nutritional agents in multiingredient dietary supplements. A popular alternative to green tea, Reishi is known for its many health benefits which include strengthening immunity, supporting brain function, lowering cholesterol levels and helping the liver process more efficiently; its antitumor, antioxidant and antibacterial properties also make it useful against cancer, cardiovascular disease and immune disorder conditions.

This herb contains more than 470 natural components, such as polysaccharides and triterpenoids, that have been demonstrated to possess various biological activities, including antitumor, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, hypolipidemic and hypolipidemic activities. Furthermore, its compounds have also demonstrated antiviral properties which could prevent cancer cells from spreading further.

Clinical studies involving human participants have confirmed that reishi is well tolerated without adverse side effects; liver injuries have only ever been reported rarely due to large quantities being consumed quickly; typically this can be attributed to other sources.

Reishi mushrooms possess an intricate structure that contributes to its distinct taste, aroma, and color. Volatile compounds produced through metabolic reactions that break down sugars into simple molecules are responsible for its unique flavors; aromas include nutty woody fermented mushroom aromas as well as bitterness salty earthy mushroomy umami flavours found in tea (Table 3).
