How Healthy Is Coffee Creamer?
Coffee creamers add body and flavor to hot beverages like coffee and tea, while simultaneously increasing their nutritional value. Unfortunately, many options on the market contain added sugars and fats which contribute to weight gain, high blood pressure and heart disease – not to mention additives such as hydrogenated oils and carrageenan that could potentially harm your health over time. Luckily there are healthier alternatives that make morning cups of joe even more nutritious!
The ideal coffee creamers are those made with minimally processed ingredients and no artificial additives that could potentially harm health over time. Furthermore, these creamers contain calcium which supports bone strength and may help prevent osteoporosis.
To identify the healthiest coffee creamers, we conducted extensive research by reviewing nutritional labels of each product and searching for common ingredients like emulsifiers and stabilizers. Furthermore, we selected only those products which contained less than 2 grams of saturated fat and 4 grams of added sugar (an amount equivalent to one tablespoon). Lastly, we searched out products which did not contain carrageenan which has been linked with intestinal inflammation.
As a result, we curated a list of healthy coffee creamers containing no more than 2 grams of saturated fat or 4 grams of added sugar per serving, while most being free from carrageenan. In addition, there were nondairy options and those featuring functional ingredients like MCT oil or collagen – both known to boost mood and promote gut health.
This dairy-free alternative is made with milk and cream from grass-fed cows, known for having more omega-3 fatty acids than conventional cow’s milk. Furthermore, there are no sugar or artificial ingredients added during production and eight different flavors are available to choose from – perfect for lactose intolerant individuals or those who simply do not enjoy traditional half and half. Please be aware that plant-based ingredients include thickeners like tapioca starch or gellan gum which could potentially thicken this creamer over time.
Contrary to many products on this list, this option does not contain any added sugar or artificial ingredients and provides protein, fiber and calcium in abundance – plus is packed full of Vitamin D to support strong bones and reduce osteoporosis risk!
Though its name might suggest otherwise, this product is actually not a creamer but instead serves as a thickening agent containing xanthan gum and carrageenan. While not the most delicious choice available on this list, this thickener offers great versatility: safe for daily consumption without harmful additives; low in calories and sodium content; plus collagen to improve skin health while relieving joint pain!
