How Long Does Mushroom Tea Last in Fridge?
Mushroom tea is an easy and delicious way to consume mushrooms, and the results can vary depending on which strain is used and its desired effect; either add the mushrooms directly into hot water, or use tea bags like any other form. Mushroom tea can serve as an effective morning or afternoon boost as well as relaxing before bedtime; common varieties used are chaga and maitake which both offer antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits – but other varieties such as lion’s mane may also work! Brewing time has an effect too: the longer brewing increases these benefits!
Ideal timing for taking tea should range between 20 and 30 minutes for maximum effectiveness and absorption of medicine. But be wary of drinking it too quickly, which will have an impactful influence on its lasting effects; too quickly and it might start wearing off before its full impact becomes noticeable.
To achieve your desired effects from making mushroom tea, it is key to use the appropriate ratio of mushrooms to liquid. For a mild psychedelic experience, use only 1/8th of dried shrooms mixed with three cups of water – this will result in approximately 0.3 grams being consumed by you. Alternatively, for stronger trips use more shrooms and less water instead.
Once your tea has been brewed, it must be stored in the refrigerator. Most people leave it there for about one week; some keep it longer depending on a variety of factors including its temperature which affects moisture formation – therefore keeping your fridge at an appropriate temperature will ensure an optimal mushroom tea experience!
Refrigerating tea for up to one month in an airtight container with lid or vacuum sealing is ideal, as this prevents moisture accumulation and extends its shelf life.
Mushroom tea should be consumed within several days of its creation. Although it will keep for longer in the refrigerator than eating individual mushrooms alone, its potency will eventually diminish over time. If any slimy mushrooms form or start emitting an offensive aroma it’s best to dispose of them quickly. For longer term storage use freezing is an option but always sterilize canning jars with boiling water before packing your mushrooms as this helps ensure no microorganisms enter.
