How to Make Mushroom Tea
Are You Familiar With the World of Medicinal Mushrooms? If you are, then you likely understand the wide array of effects mushrooms can have on the human body, from mood elevation to an increase in physical energy levels. Mushrooms have become an increasingly popular form of therapy because not only are they 100% safe but can be easily consumed as tea as well as being taken directly.
Making mushroom tea yourself offers many opportunities for customization and personalization of experience and potency, from choosing different species of mushrooms to creating custom blends or adding other herbs for additional therapeutic effects.
At this point, it’s time to prepare your ingredients. If using large mushrooms, chop them up so as to release more compounds during steeping process. In addition, boil water for 30 minutes – this should allow enough time for both mushrooms and water to come to boil together.
As soon as your water has reached a boil, add your ground shrooms to a tea mug or teapot along with water. The amount of mushrooms and water will depend on your desired potency and size of teacup; more mushrooms mean stronger effects, although they may take longer for their effects to kick in.
Let your mixture steep for about an hour – similar to when making traditional loose leaf or bagged tea brewing methods – during which time, focus on deep breathing and relaxing, finding an ideal space where you feel at ease sipping and drinking your beverage.
As your tea steeps, take a moment to consider what mushrooms are doing for your body. Hot water transforms mushroom particles cellular by cellular and transforms them into healing language that our bodies recognize. You may also wish to consider where and when these mushrooms came from; what type of soil and water were needed, who harvested and prepared them before giving them back for consumption by humans.
After about an hour, your mushroom tea should be ready to drink in either a traditional mug or travel mug. While its taste will differ slightly from that of black or green tea, its pleasant flavour remains much the same. As too much tea may lead to stomachaches in certain individuals, some prefer drinking mushroom tea rather than eating mushrooms directly as this often leads to quicker effects; but be mindful that each person metabolizes them differently; therefore some individuals may experience more side effects from its consumption than others.
