How to Make Reishi Coffee
Reishi coffee is an easy and tasty way to add functional mushrooms into your daily routine, offering relief for stress and sleeplessness. Reishi is one of the most well-known functional mushrooms, found in capsules, teas, powders and supplements alike.
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is an ancient Chinese medicinal mushroom widely cherished for its ability to promote metabolism, virility, memory and even immortality. Although once rare in nature, Reishi is now commonly farmed and utilized in health products like supplements, teas and tinctures – even coffee made by mixing high-grade coffee with Reishi extract is becoming popular today!
Reishi coffee can be prepared in one of two ways. One method involves purchasing pre-packaged products combining coffee with reishi extract. Alternatively, making your own allows you to select quality ingredients and ensures you’re consuming sufficient reishi extract per serving.
Pre-mixed reishi coffee products often include ground mycelium instead of fruiting bodies containing active components like polysaccharides and beta-glucans found in mushroom fruiting bodies – which contain around four times as many of these active compounds than mycelium grown on grain does. This represents an important difference; fruiting bodies of reishi mushrooms contain more potency active compounds than mycelium grown on grain does.
