How to Make Reishi Mushroom Coffee
Mushroom coffee is an emerging trend that combines popular beverage with functional mushrooms like reishi for increased energy and antioxidant benefits. You can purchase ready-made blends or make it yourself at home!
Reishi (Lingzhi) is an ancient medicinal mushroom which once formed at the base of specific trees and became associated with strength, virility, and immortality in ancient cultures. Reishi can now be found widely used as an adaptogen, helping balance hormones, improve sleep quality, lower stress levels while supporting cognitive function – in addition to being an energetic booster that eases fatigue while strengthening immunity systems and soothing frayed nerves.
Reishi coffee recipes can be found online. While some use pre-packaged mushroom and coffee blends, others simply involve adding one teaspoon of reishi extract powder into your regular cup of joe each morning. Others contain additional ingredients like lion’s mane, turkey tail or chaga mushrooms for additional health benefits in their morning coffee brew.
Start making Reishi Coffee By selecting and grinding beans to a medium consistency, measuring two tablespoons of coffee grounds for every 8 ounces of water you will be adding, and mixing in any extract powders such as Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Chaga or Cordyceps as desired. Sifting milk/milk alternative after mixing should remove any lumps or grit.
