Is Coffee Healthy?
Coffee may not be healthy, but it shouldn’t be seen as unhealthy either. While it does contain some dehydrating properties and empty calories from milk and sugar added, it isn’t nearly as harmful to health as diet soda can be. Coffee’s drawback lies in its caffeine content – too much caffeine may lead to anxiety and insomnia symptoms; but still better than no breakfast beverage at all or tea which may make matters even worse!
Numerous studies have demonstrated that those who drink two or three cups of coffee daily were less likely to die of heart disease, heart failure or other cardiovascular ailments than those who didn’t consume coffee; even atrial fibrillation patients appeared to benefit from regular coffee intake as they had reduced risk of death from such issues.
Research for this study utilized information from approximately half a million British medical database patients, divided by how much coffee they consumed daily and then tracked for 10 years. People who consumed more coffee were found to be 16% less likely to die of any cause and 31% less likely to succumb to heart disease compared with those who consumed the least coffee daily; however, its benefits would diminish slightly for those consuming over three cups daily.
Researchers warn that coffee may increase your risk of liver cirrhosis and Parkinson’s disease as well as lead to an irregular heartbeat, although researchers still advise taking pleasure in drinking coffee if that’s what suits your individual lifestyle.
If you want to enjoy coffee without worrying about potential side effects, try adding lemon juice, MCT oil or cinnamon to your mug. Just remember that coffee won’t magically transform your body without following an appropriate diet and exercise plan – while coffee weight loss craze has had some success stories, this won’t help you shed belly fat without following an intelligent plan.
