Nootropic Mushroom Coffee
Nootropic mushroom coffee has quickly become one of the newest supplements. By providing natural energy boosters without caffeine crash, nootropic mushroom coffee provides a healthy boost without depleting reserves too quickly.
Most brands contain a blend of medicinal mushrooms such as chaga, lion’s mane, reishi and cordyceps; others may add ashwagandha for additional nervous system support and stress reduction.
Lion’s Mane Mushroom
Lion’s mane (Hericium erinaceus) mushrooms are one of the more distinctive looking specimens on Earth, appearing like a ball made up of interconnected threads or even soft white teeth when observed from close up. Hericium mushrooms belong to an intriguing, edible family called Hericiaceae and contain other interesting varieties like maitake and turkey tail mushrooms. Researchers discovered that this specific genus contains mushrooms with unique properties which make them especially helpful in supporting brain health. Lion’s mane mushrooms feature long filamentous growth cones resembling the tips of dandelion seeds that “feel” signals from other neurons. As dendrites and axons grow toward these signals, connections between neurons may form. Lion’s mane mushrooms have been noted as encouraging this healthy expansion of neural networks that is believed to support memory and cognitive functioning.
Lion’s mane mushrooms may provide more than mental benefits; they also possess strong immunomodulatory and joint health-promoting capabilities. Studies indicate that its compounds stimulate the production of immune cells that can fight infections while simultaneously improving overall health. Furthermore, it has even been speculated that these mushrooms could protect against neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
These effects are due to its ability to protect neurons by reducing oxidative stress and stimulating neuronal growth and repair, increasing levels of BDNF and NGF, essential in maintaining healthy neurons. Furthermore, it reduces inflammation while simultaneously increasing mitochondrial activity, improving brain function while delaying dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Lion’s mane is also noted for its potential ability to reduce cortisol, helping alleviate anxiety and depression. Research suggests it works by modulating dopamine and serotonin neurotransmitters – chemical messengers associated with feelings of happiness and well-being – which in turn contribute to overall feelings of contentment and well-being.
Starting your day right with Lion’s Mane Mushroom coffee can provide you with focus, energy and mental clarity to meet any challenge that may come your way – while helping reduce brain fog and stress! Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha, commonly referred to as Indian ginseng, is a perennial plant found throughout Africa, India and the Middle East with yellow flowers and red berries resembling those seen on an azalea plant. Ashwagandha belongs to a class of adaptogen plants which help mitigate harmful effects of stress by lowering cortisol levels and supporting immune functions in its roots.
Mushroom extracts have become the latest wellness trend, promising energy and focus without the crash or added jitters associated with traditional caffeine consumption. Social media influencers have championed this new beverage’s health benefits as a prime selling point.
Many mushrooms such as reishi, cordyceps and maca root have been used in medicine for millennia; however, the concept of adding them into your daily cup of java is new. Some claim to boost performance; other may work to support immunity or decrease stress and promote sleep – for instance reishi and chaga are believed to promote immunity while ashwagandha can reduce stress while improving sleep quality.
Although most beverages containing fungi-infused beverages are safe, it’s important to read labels carefully and avoid high doses of certain ingredients. Herbal supplements may interact with certain medications and lead to side effects like gastrointestinal upset or worsening of symptoms in people suffering from underlying health conditions. Before adding mushrooms to your diet, it’s also a wise idea to consult your physician, particularly if you already have an existing condition. With that in mind, we conducted a blind taste test of several mushroom-infused beverages. At our tasting session, we sampled three blends: the Flow blend containing lion’s mane, rhodiola and chaga; Zen blend rich in reishi, turkey tail and ashwagandha; and Mojo which has an earthy flavour but provides a delightful chocolate-like experience when mixed with milk. These beverages were all prepared using ethically-sourced and non-GMO coffee.
Cordyceps
Cordyceps is an ancient Chinese remedy with a longstanding use in treating respiratory conditions, showing evidence of antioxidant and immune-enhancing properties and increasing cellular respiration efficiency, oxygen uptake, fatigue reduction and cardiovascular health improvement. Furthermore, its effects may help lower cancer risks as well as promote cardiovascular wellbeing while acting as an anti-inflammatory to aid digestion; thought to work through increasing enzyme production during cellular respiration processes while increasing protein production and inhibiting tumor growth.
Studies have demonstrated the efficacy of cordyceps against multiple forms of cancer, including leukemia and lung cancer. Studies have also demonstrated its direct cytotoxic activity against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma and meth-A fibrosarcoma cells; B16 melanomas; lymphocytic (Jurkat) cells in vitro; lymphocytic (Jurkat) and prostatic (PC3) cells; reverse the suppressive effect of chemotherapy drugs on hematopoietic stem cells in mice; stimulate regeneration while also decreasing liver damage caused by alcohol or dimethylnitrosamine, respectively.
Cordyceps has also proven effective against autoimmune disorders, increasing survival and decreasing anti-double-stranded DNA antibody titers in lupus mice while simultaneously decreasing inflammation, redistributing HPBMC in mouse models of Lupus and promoting immune function and controlling hypoproteinemia.
One study has reported that acute supplementation of a cordyceps militaris-containing mushroom blend improved performance on an exercise test using a cycle ergometer, although its benefits were only noticeable after one week of supplementation. Benefits mainly related to lactate clearance rather than peak power output, time to exhaustion or ventilatory threshold; nevertheless, these results indicate chronic supplementation may lead to even greater improvements during both aerobic and anaerobic exercise sessions.
Another study compared the effects of cordyceps extract to placebo during repeated maximal cycling tests on athletes, with those receiving supplements showing significant increases in power output whereas controls did not. This may indicate that its impact is dose dependent.
Maca Root
Maca root can also be found in nootropic mushroom coffee for an added energy boost, helping reduce feelings of tiredness and fatigue while improving concentration and decision-making skills. Maca may also increase energy by stimulating production of more adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy carrier in cells.
Nootropic mushroom coffee offers productivity benefits without the side effects caused by caffeine such as jitters, headaches and energy crashes that regular coffee can produce. Nootropic mushroom coffee’s reduced caffeine levels work on different cellular levels to promote sustainable energy that won’t drain resources over time – an excellent solution for those wanting the productivity boost associated with coffee but who wish to limit their health concerns in doing so.
TRHS Flow State Coffee with Chaga, Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps mushrooms offers a powerful way to start off your morning. Combining high-quality non-sprayed coffee beans with adaptogenic medicinal mushrooms for cognitive enhancement and mental clarity. It is an excellent alternative to low quality and health risky Costa and Starbucks coffee offerings.
As well as giving an energy boost, this coffee features both lion’s mane and cordyceps extracts to protect against free radical damage and support healthy immune function. Plus it naturally boasts high amounts of antioxidants to support your endocrine system!
Maca root can provide additional endocrine support, helping balance hormones and increase fertility among men. According to studies conducted, maca can also increase libido in both women and men suffering from low libido due to taking antidepressant drugs.
Consider that there is not much scientific support to back the claims about maca. Yet many people use it to treat male infertility, menopausal symptoms and boost sexual desire in healthy adults. Although maca is generally safe when consumed as food or given at low doses as medicine, pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should consult a GP or qualified naturopath before using maca products.
