Black Magic Tea

Erykah Badu, the Grammy-Award winning Neo Soul icon is branching out into cannabis. Recently she collaborated with entrepreneur Berner to introduce “The Badu,” her very own strain and tea set named after herself. Badu is available in eighths and pre-rolls from California’s Cookies and Lemonnade stores, and includes mushroom tea that’s perfect for moms looking for some downtime at home. Blue Badu Tea

Badu has managed to remain true to her authentic self while managing to remain successful throughout her burgeoning career. Badu credits spiritual development with contributing to her longevity and success; throughout her journey, she has found ways of uplifting women’s spirits and fans through music; this collaboration led her and Berner to launch “That Badu”, an array of cannabis wellness products designed to provide serenity and empowerment.

Badu has carefully selected an assortment of herbal teas, tinctures, oils and lotions designed to uplift and empower women. Each product was thoughtfully created to deliver therapeutic effects of herbs while remaining safe and easy-to-use for modern women. Cannabis enhances these positive outcomes further, helping balance out central nervous systems and soothing minds.

Teas are carefully formulated using an elegant blend of herbs including Reshi, Maitake, Lion’s Mane Mushroom Complex (LMC), Turkey Tail Mushroom Complex, Croatian Chamomile, French Lavender and Egyptian Rose Petals to produce an herbaceous blend that helps mothers relax and recharge. Tinctures come both gummy and liquid forms to provide personalized dosage, while oils contain high concentrations of CBD to alleviate pain and inflammation and topical lotion is specially crafted using high dosage CBD, CBG calming lavender arnica and aloe for maximum efficacy.

Badu’s commitment to uphold and empower women can also be seen in her home decor. She features antique and vintage objects throughout, with her most recent acquisition being a custom-made chaney bracelet designed by local artisan Mimi Smith for our cover photo. Chaney jewelry is composed of old fine china fragments found along beaches or former plantations sites on St. Croix – where both Badu and her mother and ancestors once worked as slaves.

“That Badu” will release their next collection just in time for Mother’s Day. This collection includes their exclusive “That Badu” strain developed in collaboration with Berner as well as teas, tinctures, oils, hand-rolled cigarettes and the Chaney bracelet.

That Badu Technology Tea

That Badu Technology Tea, developed in partnership with Erykah Badu, is Cookies’ inaugural herbal non-psychoactive mushroom tea. Concocted of vanilla- and bergamot-flavored black tea leaves decaffeinated for maximum enjoyment and packed with 10mg CBD/5mg CBG to reduce stress levels and promote relaxation.

Badu’s goal for this collaboration was to uphold and empower women. Her song “On & On,” as well as her desire to instil self-empowerment within her fans was the inspiration for its name and terpene profile of this strain’s name and profile. Ideal for morning rituals or helping focus throughout the day.

Badu is no secret as an outspoken advocate of cannabis; she even had a brand of weed named after her! Furthermore, she’s supported numerous cannabis-related causes – from doula services to working towards attaining her medical marijuana license in Texas.

She mentioned the advantages of That Badu in her YouTube video promoting it for women and mothers specifically, suggesting it as an ideal strain to help improve mood and focus. She described its effect as uplifting but not heavy or sedated; adding that It makes for ideal nightly meditations or vision quests.

Cookies developed and nurtured the strain themselves in partnership, and its parentage includes Limoncello (or Lemonchello 28) crossed with Jet Fuel Gelato genetics for an indica hybrid strain with uplifting effects that results from its crossbreeding. According to Leafly, its citrus flavors contribute uplifting properties while the jet Fuel Gelato genetics provide fruity notes.

Badu’s Apple Tree line stands out from other celebrity-backed cannabis brands because she offers more than just accessories; her Apple Tree collection contains edibles and flower from 8th packs to pre-rolls. Furthermore, she’s offering a Mother’s Day gift box featuring two types of psilocybin-infused tea (Ginger Magic and Earl Grey Creme) along with functional flavors (Golden Focus and Bergamot Brain Boost).

Cookies’ flagship store in Oakland will begin carrying the Badu Technology line starting May 14 – just in time for Mother’s Day! Please visit our online shop for further details.

That Badu X Cookies SF Apparel

Erykah Badu has long been an outspoken champion of women’s rights. To mark Women’s History Month, she’s joining forces with Cookies cannabis to launch That Badu — a premium range designed with women in mind and which will debut on International Women’s Day of March 8. A second wave of items will debut around Mother’s Day: 14 May is planned as launch date.

Badu’s vision for her brand was fully realized at every stage of creation – from research and testing, through packaging design. A purple-and-white motif reminiscent of ancient Chinese Qinghua ceramics can be seen throughout all products, such as her porcelain tray for rolling joints and Roberto Lugo’s vase-shaped bong which she affectionately named “Woman Vessel.” Together they worked closely together on creating something which celebrates both beauty and ritual associated with cannabis use.

As part of their partnership, Badu will release their inaugural cannabis cultivar: a cross between Lemonchello and Jet Fuel Gelato that can be found for purchase as eighths and pre-rolls at all Cookies and Lemonnade locations across California beginning March 8th. In addition, “That Badu” line products such as topical creams, edibles and non-psychoactive mushroom tea will also be made available through Cookies CBD and Badu World Market websites for online sales.

Berner and Badu’s partnership reflects the expanding links between music industry and cannabis world. As cannabis becomes more mainstream, musicians and brands alike are turning more toward it as an aid in elevating their craft and supporting wellness initiatives.

“Creating a cannabis line designed specifically with women in mind feels very, very necessary,” Badu explained in her statement. “There’s room for women in cannabis, and I love joining the committee of supportive women on this path.” The Badu X Cookies collection can now be found at select Marni boutiques nationwide and will soon expand internationally as well.
